The Student Leader Advocates of Music (SLAM!) mobilizes college student volunteers to teach after school music classes at local underserved high schools. These volunteers build an innovative curriculum for the class of their choice and execute weekly music programs for their students.  SLAM! also hosts several concerts a year to provide students with opportunities for exposure and networking with other aspiring musicians.

The Program
SLAM! Volunteers attend a two-part training during the first two weeks of the quarter, write an original class curriculum, and then teach weekly music classes for the duration of an 8-week session at one of our two current sites. Volunteers can apply to teach any of the classes listed on the application.
